It had been 3 months in Bangalore and we haven’t been to any place outside Bangalore, we decided to go to hogenakkal falls but unfortunately it was closed when we reached there. So we decided to go to shivasamudram falls which is around 130 km from bangalore and 6 of us took a self drive cab and headed towards the fall. We started at around 3 A.M. and reached there by 6 but unfortunately the gates were closed as entry is allowed only after 8, so we decided to have a walk around the village and stumbled upon a shop which serves delicious idli’s for breakfast.
Shivasamudram comprises of two falls Gaganachukki and Bharachukki, both of them gives a mesmerizing while Bharachukki is wider, its twin Gaganachukki is taller, deeper and faster. look but i personally liked Bharachukki more. To reach Bharachukki stairs are made to get down near the falls and its worth all the effort you take to reach there. You can take a detour which is a small circular boat in Bharachukki to reach the falls and this is what makes the place memorable. Detour will take you so near to the falls that you can feel the water sprinkling on you gives a amazing experience.

Shivasamudram situated on the Kaveri river is a great place if you are looking for a day trip from Bangalore. The best time to visit the Shivasamudram is during the monsoons from June to October, This is the time when the waterfalls are scenically beautiful with the water gushing down in full flow. This place feels like the one we used to paint in our childhood, clean white waterfall green forest all around it and a cloudy horizon with birds flying.
