Weekend trip to Yosemite Valley

Yosemite was on my bucket list from a long time and I recently got a chance to visit it over the weekend. There was a lot of excitement for the trip as 4 of us were meeting after a long time plus we were making a trip to Yosemite!!

We wanted to start our Mist Trail on Saturday morning and so decided to reach Airbnb on Friday night itself. We started hike at around 9:00 AM it took us around 8 hours to complete the whole hike. There are a lot of spots for you to sit and get immersed in the beauty of Yosemite. Mist trails go till the top of Nevada Falls, strenuous but at the same time, it’s very picturesque and satisfying. With 2 waterfalls and the amazing view of Valley from Nevada Falls, Mist Trail is a must go for those who are interested in hiking. You can get more details about the hike from my previous post.

After the hike, we decided to head towards Glacier point for the sunset. The best thing about glacier point is that it is accessible through road and is one of the best points to see the sunset. On your left, you see the orange sun setting into the mountains and in your front, you see the bright orange shining half dome. We just stood there for some time and gazed at Half Dome with awe. I think its one of that landscape which you cannot describe with words you have to be there to witness and appreciate the beauty of Yosemite.

Next morning we decided went to Mariposa Grove of Gaint Sequoia. Mariposa Grove was closed from last 3 years for restoration and has recently opened in 2018. It is the largest sequoia grove in Yosemite and is home to over 500 mature giant sequoias. There are 3 trails inside the Mariposa Grove, tired from previous days hike we decided to go for the shortest one. After clicking some photos and spending some time in Mariposa Grave we decided to head back home and bid adieu to Yosemite Park.
